Cottage Grove, Oregon

A life made from here.

A real homestead. A working kitchen. Books, useful company, and a little market made from what is growing.

A chicken standing on the porch at Muse Homestead

The place was already here. I just had to look again.

The beginning

I spent a while grieving everything I hadn’t grown.
Then I looked again.

There were eighteen chickens and a daily abundance of eggs. Berries, plums, figs, potatoes, onions, peas, and tomatoes. Rabbits underfoot. Wine boxes waiting to become a farmstand. The Cub waiting for the next drive.

Muse Homestead is what happened when I stopped treating those things as background and began building with what was already true.

Permission to build a life that feels coherent.
